A FRIEND INDEED - www.afriendindeed.ca A USA/Canada based website specifically for women in menopause and mid-life. Very informative site with lots of information on the latest studies and research, suggested reading list and an extensive list of useful links.

 

BONE HEALTH FOR LIFE - www.bonehealthforlife.org.au Bone Health for Life provides practical advice for women, and their health professionals, to improve bone health so as to prevent and manage osteoporosis. Their website includes information about risks, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis.

 

COUNCILS ON THE AGEING NATIONAL SENIORS - www.cota.org.au COTA is the largest seniors organisation in Australia. It protects and promotes the wellbeing of all older people. The site includes a list of conferences, media and press releases, publications, journals and fact sheets.

 

DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND AGEING - www.health.gov.au/acc/ Site for older persons, carers and health professionals. Extensive list of publications and forms, legislation, awards and grants etc.

 

HEALTHY AGEING - www.healthyageing.com.au An Australian site that covers a wide range of topics from enjoying life to health information. Numerous links to relevant agencies and organisations.

 

JEAN HAILES FOUNDATION - www.jeanhailes.org.au Australian site that includes information on menopause, hormone replacement therapy and complimentary therapies.

 

NATIONAL AGEING RESEARCH INSTITUTE - www.mednwh.unimelb.edu.au This site has a diagram of an Ageing Well cycle which represents NARI’s approach to ageing research. NARI’s dedicated researchers deal with age-related issues from cell biology to service delivery. This holistic approach to ageing is the key to ageing well. With this multidisciplinary approach to ageing research, NARI is working to improve the quality of life for older people, to increase active longevity free from disability and functional dependence, and to promote quality ageing for all. The site provide links to information on research projects undertaken in relevant areas.

 

TAOIST TAI CHI SOCIETY - www.taoist.org.au A non-profit organisation promoting the advantages of including tai chi in your daily routine.
