The Australian Breastfeeding Association
(ABA) is a voluntary organisation established in 1964 to encourage and
support mothers who wish to promote skilled and loving mothering, while
creating in the community an awareness of the importance of human milk. In
Queensland there are currently 70 groups, 280 trained voluntary
breastfeeding counsellors and 2507 subscribers. Their website includes
information about breastfeeding education classes, breast pump hire, local
group events, contact numbers for helplines and a list of important facts
about breast milk.

NATIONAL BREAST CANCER COUNCIL -

Incorporating the ovarian cancer program. The NBCC is Australia's peak
body for breast and ovarian cancer control. They work with women, health
professionals, cancer organisations, researchers and governments to reduce
the number of women who die from breast and ovarian cancer. Their website
is an informative site with items such as best clinical practice
guidelines, recent research details, the latest media releases and a list
of upcoming events.
POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME

is dedicated to raising the awareness of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, a
syndrome that affects 5-10 percent of all women. The syndrome is a hidden
epidemic in Australia - it receives little public attention and is poorly
